Create RSS feed of your Facebook status updates

FaceBook does not make it simple to grab an RSS feed of your status stream.  If you search online, you will find several tutuorials such as http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=293427798680  Which is great, but I thought I could make it a little quicker and easier.

1.  Log in to FaceBook

2.  Go to http://www.facebook.com/notifications.php

3.  Click on via RSS.  This will display an RSS feed of notifications, that is, comments and activities of your FaceBook friends.

4.  Look up at your browser's address bar.  See the word notifications?

5.  Place your cursor at the end (or beginning) of the word notifications and delete it using your backspace key (or delete key).

6.  Type in the word status in the same place.  Be sure not to delete the forward slash or the dot before the letters php.  Hit Enter.

And there you have an RSS feed of your own FaceBook Status updates, that you can use to populate a widget on a website, for example.....

Northeast Holiday Parade, Sunday December 5 "Holidays on Route 66"

Holidays on Route 66
66th Northeast Los Angeles Holiday Parade & Winterfest

Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 1 p.m.

The 66th Northeast Los Angeles Holiday Parade will officially bring in the holiday season on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. The city's second oldest annual holiday parade offers has become a great attraction for entertainers and audience alike!

The list of participants has multiplied in the past two years, offering more marching bands, drill teams, dancers, musicians, floats, equestrian units, celebrities and community representatives.

As in years past, Santa Claus has already confirmed his visit to Northeast L.A. and will be accepting letters from children as part of the Holiday celebration.

This annual volunteer-organized community parade is being presented by the Highland Park Chamber of Commerce with collaboration from Los Angeles City Councilmen Ed Reyes (CD 1) and Jose Huizar (CD 14) as well as the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and numerous local businesses and organizations.

The parade will proceed from North Figueroa Street and Avenue 60, southbound to Sycamore Grove Park where Winterfest activities continue, offering live music and the announcement of the award-winning Parade entries.

Remember North Figueroa will be closed to vehicle traffic along the parade route from approximately 10:00 AM on.

Accessible by the Metro Rail Gold Line, the parade also introduces visitors to the Northeast area's cultural and historic facilities and unique shopping experience.
