Random thoughts on art, technology, stuff, and occasionally Real Estate: For the Active Rain Suggestion Box

For the Active Rain Suggestion Box

Here's something Jorgen could work on in his spare time:  :-)

If you post frequently to Localism, chances are it is ~always~ the same State, County and City.

Wouldn't it be great if those fields were "sticky" and you didn't have to plow through the whole drop-down menu every time you posted.  That has to be painful for folks in Wyoming or Yukon.  :-)

I have tried to use the contact AR button at the bottom right of the screen to submit questions or ideas.  I get their dialog box and their fruit system secret word verification.  Then, somewhat later, I will get an idiot automated email from support saying they think my submission might be spam and would I please verify my submission.  I'm sorry, but I find handling support trouble tickets in that manner is so x#%$&#xxx  that I give up and never submit the ticket or idea.  I know that if I set up a site on a host that one option for a contact me dialog is automated email - but I thought these folks had their own servers.  If they can't program an alternate logging system for trouble tickets or disable the spam blocker on those emails, then they are not as smart as I thought they were.  Sorry about that - I just find it irritating.

But on the off chance that someone reads your message - I have two requests...

FIX THE GX$**#$&##xxx TROUBLE TICKET SYSTEM

and

I would like the internal email system to sent me a copy of an email that I sent to a member so that I can keep a file copy of my email like every other email message that I send.

Sorry for the rant - I need more sleep.  And I like the idea of the sticky data fields.

CJ,

Ted's got a point, and I too like the idea of sticky data fields.

Some systems (not AR) have a "preferences" page where you can set a preference like what you're suggesting. (My MLS has it for the counties and cities I search most often).  Doesn't seem like it would be a big deal.  But, who knows?
