Random thoughts on art, technology, stuff, and occasionally Real Estate: September 3, 1943

September 3, 1943

While sorting through an unruly collection of saved newspapers and saved newspaper clippings -- sure I'm a packrat, but I'm a high-functioning packrat, I came across another that I thought was worth sharing.

It's the Los Angeles Times dated September 3, 1943.  No, I don't get credit for saving it.  It was in a box of stuff found in my present home when I first moved in.

I have a few old news papers from back in the 40's as well. Newspapers back then had some substance to them unlike the daily mullet wrappers of today. I call the local paper the Nashville Excuse.

Cheryl, That's amazing, I'd hold onto that for sure--what a piece of history!  Lucky find and I'm amazed at what wonderful condition it seems to be in!

Cheryl it looks to be in good condition. I wonder what it would fetch on Ebay. Monika has a few old papers tucked away and I have sports copies hiding around too.

THAT IS SO NEAT!!  I bet that would look good in some kind of frame for hanging, and to help preserve it. Like Jay said, it seems to be in good condition. Nice find.

Cheryl,

Don't sell it to the LA Times!  They'd probably destroy the evidence that they used to have a backbone.  LOL

Mike .... Yeah, the headlines aren't exactly what we'd now term "politically correct".  :-)

There are a few other papers from that year in the box, I'll photo some of the others for everyone, too.
