Here's a question for Wordpress gurus.
Someone wants to setup a WordPress blog to function more like a website, so they set a static page as the main page, like this:
They click the Options tab, then the Reading tab ....

Then under Reading Options -> Front Page -> Front page displays, they select a static page, and then they click Update Options,

Okayfine. But suppose they then want to create a navigation link to their blog posts.
What does the URL to access blog posts become?? I have tried a number of variations, and haven't come up with the answer.
I could probably create another page with the WordPress loop code on it.... but it seems to me there should be a simpler solution. OK ... Archives ,,, maybe????
Anyone??

Bob ... But then, what is the URL for someone to view the old original home page with the blog posts??....
(One obvious solution: Use a magazine style theme like Revolution - that creates a whole separate blog folder -- Like Daniel R has done with http://realestatezebra.com/ )
I 'spose I could cough up the $79, download Revolution and start playing with it. Just think of all the tutuorial material ~there~!!!!!
Then you create a "Blog" page and set it to the Post page under the Static page setting on the "Reading" setting. THe URLs follow the orginal format of the blog.
Example home pages = http://lnfsample.wordpress.com/
Blog post = http://lnfsample.wordpress.com/2008/02/15/testing-a-second-post/
Page post = http://lnfsample.wordpress.com/buyers-page/
Sorry to tell you this Bob, but your links don't work. :-)
So, how do you create the "blog page" ? I tried pasting the WP loop code into a page, code view, but it only displayed as text -- won't execute and call up the blog posts.
Bob ..... Ahhhh soooooo. Excellent!!! Thank you!!!!
