Random thoughts on art, technology, stuff, and occasionally Real Estate: Firefox 3 Beta 4

Firefox 3 Beta 4

Anyone else download and install Firefox 3 Beta 4 yet?

I just did this morning, and so far, it's performing like a champ.  (As long as you don't count access to the Glendale-Foothills I-Tech MLS which is IE only  :-(  )

Now to play around with some of my add-ons.

Here are the release notes:

Here's a link to the download site in case anyone else wants to get it a try:

Working great over here.

Our MLS (as well as many others) are designed around I.E. (because it's cheaper to do so) so I have to use the security "challenged" I.E. Browser for the MLS but for everything else, Firefox / Mozilla has been my default for well over a decade.

I am using Firefox/2.0.0.12 I'll give it a whirl.  I also use sage as my feed reader.

OK, CJ.  I downloaded it and willstart using it.  I'm not really a techy kind of guy and I still have Windows XP on my oldish computer.  So we'll see how it goes.  My MLS doesn't support FIrefox but it'll run OK.  The data input for listings won't run on anything but IE and my Association's forms software will only run on IE.  Oh well.

Ooops.  Forgot to mention the Beta didn't want to recognize some of the add-ons I have installed on my other Firefox -- del.icio.us, adaptive blue, a couple of others. So they didn't carry over.

My MLS in Westchester County, New York also uses IE.  I want to use Firefox but am concerned about the about of memory it will use and then all of the things I have saved on IE are not available.  It seems like a maor thing to do and I wonder is it so much better.  What does it really do for me to make it worthwhile to go through all of that?
