Random thoughts on art, technology, stuff, and occasionally Real Estate: This Is Just A Test

This Is Just A Test

This is just a test of how a real estate show video fits in the localism content column... will it be too wide???  Will it fit just right???

Enquiring minds want to know...

Here goes.....

OK. Question answered: It fits just fine

UPDATE

Dan Cummings discovered a White Box Buglet when using FireFox. I managed to duplicate the behaviour:

When I access the page from my Localism Home Page http://localism.com/neighbor/cheryljns everything is fine.

When I go to http://localism.com/, search for Glassell Park, and click on the city link ... bingo ... white box.

Hmm. Mine have worked out fine but I don't use the big version.  I'm curious.  The new localism format will require me to go back to over 100 posts and change them.  I'm disappointed.

Oh Great.  It's not showing on Localism yet.  Maybe I'll change it from "advertising a Listing" to "About a Region".  Stand by.  Just my luck they decided to go back to the approval first system. :-)

Strange...... I get a big white block as I scroll over your video in Localism.  Looks ok here on your blog. Below are two screen shots showing how it gets an area "white-out" using Firefox.

Dan ... Maybe it was because I was adding the additional image right at the same moment as you were on the page?  Maybe?  I hope?

Now the additional image shows here, but not on Localism.  Hmm.

2 minutes later.  Now the additional image shows on Localism.

Cheryl.... Just looked again and it appears fine on your outside blog where you took your screen shot but on localism I get a repeatable white blocks.  Here a full screen shot showing a partial white out.

Maybe  Jorgen Hanh will catch this via an alert.....

OK ... I have FF running and I duplicated the behavior.....

When I access the page from my Localism Home Page  http://localism.com/neighbor/cheryljns  everything is fine.

When I go to http://localism.com/  search for Glassell Park, and click on the city link ... bingo ... white box.

Yes... and I just freshened up again with the same results...  Didn't know there was a new member on staff but if he's feeling ambitious he can go into bug extermination mode.

Another chance to learn all the differences in the new localism I'm sure we will have others. We just started redoing our old blogs also.

@ Terry   I don't think this one difference that Dan discovered was intentional.  :-)

Update:  The White Box Buglet also appears when using Flock.  (No white box when using Internet Explorer)

Everyone -- I am pulling  this back from Localism ... After all, we want Localism to look purdy.  :-)  But I am leaving it up here on AR, in case the AR crew needs any documentation on the White Box Bug.

Later:   Except that it still is showing on Localism.

I unchecked "For Consumers" and checked "For real estate professionals" instead.  I removed Region geo-tagging, and re-published.  I refreshed my browser, but alas, the post still shows in Localism.

Here I am – a day late and a dollar short. Things have been a bit busy around here recently; I was trampled several times in the land rush :)

We're working on a big redesign of Localism (see jon's Sneak peek: The NEW New Localism) which will fix the aforementioned white-box issue. Know that your sharp detective work was incredibly helpful, and much appreciated!
