I still have an unfinished mission: To help a friend sell her handcrafted jewelry online. Folks who have followed me here on AR for a while know this project has been hanging around for over a year. :-)
I think I just got lucky. Someone at her work told this friend about Etsy (rhymes with "Betsy") http://www.etsy.com/index.php
It's sort of like Ebay for artistians and craftspeople.
Anybody else ever hear of Etsy? Any feedback? Comments?
Right now I'm all over it. If I can manage to avoid real estate/property rental problems for a few days, I just might have a store set up by next week. :-)

UPDATE: Before I posted this, I ran a Google search for reviews of "Etsy". I didn't notice any Active Rain posts, and AR posts usually come up near the top.... But after reading Rich's comments. I ran an Active Rain search, and sure enough, another Active Rain member, Brittney Williams: has written a post about Etsy http://activerain.com/blogsview/473388/Etsy-com-The-Crafty .
ANOTHER UPDATE: Here's a Squidoo Lens someone created with lots of great Etsy information: http://www.squidoo.com/etsy_store_crafts
And an Etsy Flickr group: http://www.flickr.com/groups/lookandlearn/discuss/

Cheryl, you really come up with some interesting tidbits. Who knew? Someone is always coming up with some clever marketing tool. ;-)
As is typical around here, Jonathan Washburn was the first one to mention Etsy to me. This was a couple years ago. It was cool back then, and it's even cooler now!
There is so much to learn in regards to marketing on line. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Cheryl J, I have heard of etsy and have checked it out. It does seem pretty cool.. I am looking forward to you sharing what you come up with. God bless,
I am getting a booth set up at the flea market that is opening in our town. It would be easier to do it on line but you have to get a following first for your items. Especially the hand made one of a kinds. feel free to post to the quilters/crafters group too. love how our peers are always helping each other out!!. be good cw
